We are a multidisciplinary private practice offering speech pathology, occupational therapy,  psychology and music therapy. Our practice strongly believes in a family centered approach to service delivery where our therapists work together with parents to identify concerns and provide effective intervention for the child. Each child’s treatment plan is tailor made to suit their individual family needs.

We service the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne, providing assessment and treatment for children aged 2 to 18. We offer clinic based services and also offer outreach services at the child’s kindergarten, school or home, for families who cannot attend one of our clinics. We believe that providing services in the child’s functional environment is an efficient way for children to learn and generalise skills into their everyday environment quickly and easily.

In addition to attending your child’s school or kinder, we take advantage of being on site and offer information sessions for staff and parents covering interesting topics such as noticing ‘red flags’ or concerns in children, techniques for dealing with children on the Autism Spectrum, techniques for stimulating language and reading.

We are very proud and excited to announce that we have expanded our practice into Kew East and are offering speech pathology services at The ASD Clinic with Richard Eisenmajer and his team of psychologists. We are also offering speech pathology and occupational therapy services for children at their home/school/kinder.

We first came to De Silva speech pathology a little over a year ago with concerns about our daughter’s speech. After a couple of sessions the speech pathologist raised concerns about ASD red flags she was seeing. We had our daughter formally assessed and subsequently diagnosed. The therapy is really helping our daughter navigate confusing (to her) social situations. With Trudy’s help I believe she is on track for a successful transition to primary school in the new year. Our son is also a client of De Silva speech pathology. Claire comes out to his school regularly and works with him and his teacher. Claire and Trudy are valued members of our ‘team’. I would, and do, recommend De Silva Speech Pathology to everyone.

Trudy has worked with both my daughters - with Trudy's help they have learned about recognising their own emotions, anger management, social skills, homework challenges and how to cope in the classroom.

My daughter has been working with Trudy since she was diagnosed with Autism and has become very fond of her. My daughter sometimes becomes difficult to work with but Trudy has been very dedicated in making her understand and say things which were earlier a daunting task. She has made a lot of improvements and Trudy knows how to be gentle yet firm to make the therapy work. She sometimes needs gentle persuasion, and Trudy knows how to motivate/push her to get results and at the same time keep things fun. De Silva Kids Clinic is highly recommended for its services.

Mum of an Autistic Kid

What I value most about Trudy, is how she helps me to understand what my child is experiencing and offers strategies that work. Since we've started our sessions, I have seen profound improvements in communication and emotional responses. It is something that helps our entire family. I look forward to each and every session, because she is genuine and her experience is evident, with proven results. The change from when we started to now, has been enormous. I can see the progress in my child, and myself, by having a deeper understanding of what my child needs and leave each session with tips and tools to try. I highly recommend.

Trudy has been helping my autistic 6 yr old son William for the past year, and he has shown amazing improvements in his social skills, communication and ability to verbalise his feelings and experiences throughout that time.

My 4yo daughter has been with Trudy for almost 12 months. In that time we have seen a huge improvement in her social shyness and conversation skills. I would recommend Trudy in a heartbeat.
